How to play Vault Roll

  • Each room starts with five dice. Every die has two coins (worth 1), two gems (worth 3), one key and one alarm.
  • After each roll, any alarm raises the room's alert by exactly one, however many alarms show. Alarms and keys are set aside automatically; keys fill the room's chest.
  • You are normally caught at alert 2. The first alarm roll is a warning; the next alarm roll catches you and loses your room haul. Secured treasure from earlier rooms is never lost.
  • After a safe roll, Bank and leave collects your room haul plus every treasure die showing. Or select at least one treasure die to keep and reroll the rest; unselected treasure is lost when rerolled.
  • When every die is set aside, bank or roll a fresh set of five. Your haul, keys and alert carry over. The odds line always shows the exact chance that the next roll catches you.
  • Touch or click dice to select them. Keyboard: Tab between controls, 1–5 select dice, R rolls or keeps and rerolls, B banks, A selects all treasure, ? opens the rules, and Escape pauses.
  • A raid has eight rooms and three chances. Pick a tool after rooms 2, 4 and 6, and choose a safer or richer door at rooms 3 and 6. Your raid saves after every decision, including the dice on the table.

Vault Roll tips

  • Rolling is free until the first alarm. After that, every roll can catch you; compare the odds line with the treasure you would lose.
  • Rerolling fewer dice is safer. Keeping your gems and rerolling one or two coins is often a reasonable gamble; rolling a fresh set of five at alert 1 usually is not.
  • A chest one key away can be worth a risk. Lockpick, Silencer and Insurance can turn a dangerous roll into a sensible one.
  • With one chance left, take the safer door. Busting three times ends the raid early, although your secured treasure still counts.

Questions about Vault Roll

Are the dice fair?

Yes. Each die has six equally likely faces. Results come from a seeded random stream that never reacts to your score or choices, and reloading restores the same dice rather than rerolling them. The displayed chance of getting caught is calculated exactly from the dice you would roll and the room's rules.

What does the daily raid share?

Everyone playing on the same date gets the same rooms, route choices, tool offers and sequence of dice. Different decisions roll different numbers of dice, so outcomes diverge. Daily results are kept only on this device; there is no online leaderboard.

Does Vault Roll save my raid?

Yes. Your raid saves in this browser after every completed decision, including the dice on the table, your tools and the random state. Continue from the title screen. Best scores and your ten most recent raids are kept locally; clearing site data removes them.

Can I play Vault Roll offline?

Yes, after loading Webcade online and waiting for “Ready for offline play”. The arcade must finish downloading its assets before offline play is available.
